About me

Hello, I am Anurag, also known as Lekhak Anurag. I am a journalist, long form writer, and short story author who enjoys exploring narratives around law, crime, politics, technology, and society. Writing has been at the centre of my work for over fifteen years, and it continues to shape how stories are observed, analysed, and told.

Professional journey

Since 2004, I have worked as a freelancer across different assignments, gradually building a strong foundation in writing, research, and editorial work. Over the years, this independent journey helped develop a disciplined approach towards fact based storytelling and analysis.

In 2020, I joined OpIndia as a journalist. Since then, the focus has been on reporting, op-eds, and detailed explainers covering current affairs, legal developments, politics, technology, and investigative topics. The work involves deep research, reading court documents, analysing claims, and presenting information in a clear and accessible manner.

Alongside writing, there is practical experience with domains and hosting, primarily to manage personal publishing platforms and maintain independent control over content.

Blogging and writing

Blogging began in 2006 and gradually evolved into consistent long form writing. Over the years, this has included opinion pieces, explainers, investigative write-ups, and narrative storytelling. The emphasis has always remained on clarity, factual accuracy, and readable language.

Alongside journalism, short story writing remains a strong creative passion. Most stories explore crime, psychological tension, mystery, and human behaviour, blending narrative storytelling with atmospheric detail. This creative space allows experimentation with tone, structure, and immersive storytelling beyond news reporting.

Freelance writing assignments, editorial collaborations, and independent blogging helped shape a writing style that balances reporting with analysis. The goal has always remained simple, present complex information in a way that is easy to understand.

Visual storytelling

Photography has remained a personal hobby and a creative outlet. As a multimedia graduate, visual composition naturally complements written storytelling. Whether selecting images, planning visual narratives, or understanding how visuals support a story, this interest helps in presenting content more effectively.

Educational background
